The Tourism Sector
as a Political and Economic Tool
in International Relations

   This article presents the economic and political parameters of the tourism sector. On the occasion of the recent meeting of tourism institutions between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, this article will attempt to present the key theoretical arguments concerning the development of tourism in a country, regardless of its political system. Tourism is a tool of political practice corresponding to economic development, international relations, and negotiations in a post-conflict environment. It also serves as a means of explaining the political and economic balance between regions of the international community.
